The BJP state unit organized a protest in front of the Karnataka state assembly in Bengaluru, countering the Congress government's demonstration in New Delhi against the union government. Led by Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra, opposition leader R Ashoka, and former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, the protest at the Gandhi Statue on the Vidhana Soudha premises included slogans against the Congress government. The situation escalated when BJP leaders attempted to lock the Chief Minister’s Office within Vidhana Soudha, resulting in their detention by the police.

Former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's protest in New Delhi, accusing him of seeking attention instead of addressing issues. Yediyurappa stated that the Congress's resort to such dramatic measures indicates a lack of confidence and internal disputes within the party. BJP MP Lehar Singh highlighted alleged internal discord within the Congress, attributing their protest to personal ambitions thwarted within the party leadership.

Senior JD(S) leader GT Deve Gowda criticized the state government's decision to protest against the central government, emphasizing the need for dialogue between the chief minister and the Union finance minister to address financial concerns and fulfill election promises.
